On March first as a group date we took an adventure to the Oracle Caves. We were suppose to leave at seven thirty but of course my date, a blind date, showed up half and hour late. So after waiting for what seemed like forever we finally piled into two trucks. My date Jordan and I were “privileged” to sit in the back of my brother’s tiny little pick up truck, where my date and I sat facing each other. Thank goodness both of us love to talk or it would have been crazy awkward…we seriously had non stop conversation the whole way. It was actually fun. After the two hour ride up to the cave that made my butt fall asleep I was so ecstatic to get out of the truck I did a little dance. After getting all our supplies together we headed down the road to the cave to find the cave entrance.
This is the first entrance we found. As you can see its not very big. I was like “heck no, I’m not going in there!” I’m a little claustrophobic and just looking at the entrance made me breathe faster. So we sent some of the guys to find the right one…which took twenty minutes.
Once you get into the cave the inside is big except for one tight place called the "lemon squeeze" where you have to wiggle through this little hole head first on your side. Not any easy task for a bootylicious girl like me. I'd been to the cave before so the whole way through I was preparing myself for the lemon squeeze. When We finally made it to the lemon squeeze I took a deep breath and just went for it. As I was wiggling through my butt got a little stuck and for a split second I was like "Oh my gosh I'm gonna die here is this cave." Running through my head was this channel eight show that I watched with my dad when I was eight. This man went exploring in a little tunnel and gotstuck and eventually died. Since that show I had always been afraid to die like that. (Thanks Dad) But not to worry I made it out with a little wiggling and in an odd sort of way it was a little exhilarating.
I was so happy to not be stuck...hence the ecstatic expression on my face!

After three hours of exploring the cave we headed out. When we finally made it out I was so happy to breathe fresh air an see the sunlight I almost sang a song! We were crazy dirty, hungry and exhausted but we had so much fun!

Spring in My Front Yard

This is why I love spring, even in the hot dreary desert of Queen Creek Arizona I can find brilliant beauty that takes my breath away. It makes me stop and breath it all in and for a moment, just a moment life slows down and my thoughts are turned to the Creator who created this earth right down to every little wildflower.
